hmm, does anyone know if Applefritter (http://www.applefritter.com/) is dead/abandoned?
the site hasn't been updated for ages... pretty sad, I always enjoyed the weirdo mods... maybe people have moved on to the revamped Macmod.com (http://www.macmod.com/)??? :confused:

I borrowed a faster Mac, and used that to install to its HDD, I think it mayve had more RAM, then dumped the HD in my trusty eMac and let it boot. It wouldnt boot on 64MB though... I tried that xD

My service provider offers CPanel Horde for webmail. I didn't used to mind that but now Horde has been changed in lots of crappy ways and I don't like it. Plus it doesn't work at all on Safari.
Is there a way for me to get my webmail through another service?

That's it exactly, I've been trying to think what it is... and you're right the UI is actually overdone!
Having trouble computing what exactly is "overdone" about the UI of this app. It is simple, clean and well organized.

Maybe where you live. I tried it in La Jolla, CA with Terk TV5 and I just was able to get couple channels and very choppy.Yeah I have to move my Terk TV5 antenna every time I change the channel. It's not easy. Very sensitive to antenna position A LOT.Sorry Multimedia. I even joined your yahoo group and I was very excite about the possibilities of the EyeTV500. I just turned out to be not the way you said.
It works maybe for you, but in some cases like mine require way more than what your are just saying.
I am just trying to make sure people are not going through the same hassle and disappointment I had.
so be aware!Sorry. Off air recording is obviously a crap shoot. I do have to tweak the antenna every time I change channels. So there is a lot of baby sitting the antenna I have to do all the time. Digital Broadcast TV is both a blessing and a curse. I wonder if it's a conspiracy by the cable operators to force subscriptions.

Is there space for a 12.7mm hard drive inside the 2010 unibody mac mini? Bought a 1.83 mini and would only take a 9.5mm HDD. I need to know if there is space for the larger drive.

I think Apple thinks that by taking the best of the two worlds they are creating a "better" user experience. I don't know if this is the case but I think that this is clearly the inevitable long-term outcome. Time will tell.
If anyone can do it, Apple's the company. They'll take their time, refine it, make it useful, get hardware support, etc.
So far, Microsoft's idea of touchscreen is "the finger tells the cursor where to go". Or HP overlays some terrible "Front Row"ish interface on TOP of Windows. :rolleyes:
This is probably at least 3-5 years away if at all. I wonder how many of these posts are trolls? I haven't had any issues whatsoever with 4.3.1. I also didn't have any problems with 4.3; battery life has been absolutely stellar and call performance actually improved in 4.3.1.
The timing of all these "bitching" posts just seems suspicious.

Unfortunately, I can also state that there are numerous issues cropping up after updating for me also.
1) Slide switch on lock screen sticking
2) Rapid decrease of battery life - huge concern given I am in Japan and am very keen to keep a high level of battery for emergency usage!! High priority - fix it Apple! No messing.
3) iOS devices not being able to find known favourite Wi-Fi networks and refusing to join them once they eventually find them.
4) APPLE TV behaving erratically
Should the list go on?

iPhone - revolutionary in that it raises the bar VERY high for other manufacturers...But it still smells like first generation to me. Behind the arguably flawless design, usability and performance issues are already being raised. Kudos to Steve and his enormously talented staff, but I'll pass on early adoption. But slick..oh so slick..No one is as good as SJ for coordinating such a project. Now let's see how it sells.

In business you either have to be the first, or the cheapest (neither applies to iPhone), simply being the best doesn't cut it. Apple and its devotees have argued for ages that MacOS is so superior to Windows it's ridiculous, but they've never managed to even put a dent in Microsoft's market share.
With the iPod Apple was able to hog 60% of the market before the competition even woke up, but here they're up against Nokia, SonyEricsson, Motorola, Siemens, Blackberry, Palm/Treo, HP and a bunch of other giants with well established distribution channels and deals with every carrier on earth. I hope for Apple's sake they've patented the crap out of this thing because the first SonyEricsson iPhone killer is probably being designed as we speak.
BTW, was there any mention of games on this thing? Without games, kids aren't touching the iPhone with a ten foot pole, and aging businessmen who always groan over buttons being too small may not be into the idea of *no* buttons.
