Agreed. I just spent 55k on 9.6TB of raw fibre channel storage for our 3PAR. That's 16 600GB drives if you were wondering.
So at those prices you would spend almost 69 million to buy 12 Petabytes.

That's it exactly, I've been trying to think what it is... and you're right the UI is actually overdone!
Having trouble computing what exactly is "overdone" about the UI of this app. It is simple, clean and well organized.
If you so desire, help a brother out and explain what is "overdone" about the UI?

REALLY? You're going to throw a 3 and 4 year old phone into the argument? Fine. How many old Android phones can run all the available apps. Heck, how many Android phones less than a year old run all the apps available?
all of them.
all of them.

So since there is no answer to my earlier question, I take it that the posters who take issue with the tracking have not bothered to correct the issue on their phone and desktop, which would seem like they care more about posting complaints than being tracked.

but do the math... 240 songs... average time per song 3 minutes
240 x 3 = 720 minutes / 60 = 12 hours current shuffle battery time
Good point... I hadn't considered the battery time. By this time next year, the memory chips will definitely be a lot cheaper so 2G (or more) will be easily do-able in something as small as the Shuffle for a decent price. Hopefully the battery life can be improved as well. Not much use being able to store 36 hours of music and not being able to listen to it.

Apple should just roll their own.
They have the power, the talent, the size, and certainly the scale, to go their own way with an excellent chance of success.
The more things they do in-house, the better. It'll only enhance the Apple ecosystem and grow it.
Is this always the best approach? Unless Apple intends to invent something beyond the wheel, why just invent the wheel all over again? The duplication of effort doesnt sound very cost effective. And for good or ill, we do operate in a Neo-Liberal economy where its most cost effective to source services and products from others. All the same I can understand the Google thing, but I dont think the articles distance itself from Google language is the best choice of words. Reduce dependency on Google would be more accurate. Anyway, I would have to think that Apples plan is to move beyond the wheel. I wonder what that will look like?

Apple should really diversify their suppliers anyway, which is what they look like they are doing. Cut Samsung supply by 50%, and threaten all of it if they don't get their act together. Surely Samsung doesn't think that that they can bring in this kind of revenue on their own merit. Outside of LCD televisions, Samsung has an image problem, and even that has only improved in the last few years.

I got a chance to shoot a BMW Z4. I'm having a hard time editing the photos as the black just looks "crushed"? I'm not sure how to explain what I'm trying to say but I critique my photos a lot so basically I think this photo sucks but the owner thinks its good.

Its not supposed be be less functional than the app that came before it.
I would think themes would fall under the "form" category, rather than "function"

At this point, I couldn't really care less about Blu Ray or HD-DVD. I'd be more excited if Apple included Lightscribe or equivalent capability in their drives. Unlabeled discs are piled high on my desk.
Get a $100 inkjet cd/dvd printer. I use the Epson R320 (has a few more bells and whistles). You can Google images and print just about any kind of image on your discs. They look GREAT!
Generic ink is about $15 for a complete set! Doesn't look the best for photos but works fine for labels.

I don't make a living with Photoshop, but it is a pretty serious side activity of mine, and as I said before, for what it is, Photogene is perfectly adequate for the general iPad user.
Unless they can add color profiles, different colorspaces other than RGB (LAB, CMYK, et al.), Photoshop for professional use will never get off the ground on a device like this.
Not to say you should be able to do a complete workflow from import to print on a tablet device, which, at least for now, seems completely unrealistic -- but I would think pros need to be able to import, see colors in a reasonable approximation for proofing or showing to clients, and maybe make spot edits based on client feedback.
I honestly wasn't too thrilled with Photoshop Express, which is why when I saw Photogene, I was immediately impressed with is features.

I see TJ Maxx's acquisition of some iPads as a marketing scheme. If a few select stores have at least 5 to offer at a discounted price, imagine what kind of results they would get if they offered them as a Black Friday Doorbuster Special. They would probably get hundreds lined up at the door like Best Buy does for a deeply discounted HDTV or laptop. As for a warranty, I don't think they offer warranties on any of their products because they are a clearing house.
I think many people are missing the boat on Steve Jobs alleged statement. Saying TJ Maxx is "not an authorized reseller" is just stating a fact. It's not as if Apple even cares that TJ Maxx is doing this. In fact Jobs is probably happy at the fact that the iPad is getting yet more publicity at his competitors expense and spending $0 while doing so.
Precisely my dear Watson. By Job, I think you got it!!!:):o;):D

After looking around, guess the 1TB 12.5mm hard drives won't fit either in the 2010 Mac Minis. Guess I'll be removing the optical drive then and installing it there... :p
Anyways, I will know for sure when I rip into my unibody Mini tomorrow :D
