Toyota is recalling their customers approximately 51,000 of its 2011 model year Tundra pickup trucks because of a potential problem with the rear drive shaft. The liability lies with a component, the slip yoke that was rudely cast during the foundry process and may break.
There is no news of accidents associated with this recall. Toyota does, however, know of one occurrence of a drive shaft slip yoke failure in a customer vehicle.
In May, vehicle owners will receive a letter detail the recall for Toyota Tundra trucks. Toyota dealer will inspect vehicles free of charge to identify a specific "production lot" number located on the rear drive shaft
